About the event
Love: Tried, True and Toxic
Pōneke poets on one of life's great perplexities
Love has long been the subject of poetry – it takes many forms and is not always what you expect. Come along to hear Pōneke poets speak about love of all kinds: a friendship that went bad, a true love that went good, the simple love for a moko, the complicated love for a brother, and more. Simon Sweetman (MC), Danny Bultitude, Zia Ravenscroft,, Maggie Rainey-Smith, Sadie Lawrence, Khadro Mohamed and Richard Langston are published and performance poets who will fill your heart and mind. Event sponsors: New Zealand Society of Authors (Wellington), The Cuba Press, The Undercurrent, and Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day.
Entry Details: Free. Open to all ages. Drinks and nibbles provided.
Date/Times: 23 August, 5.30-7.30pm
